Term 3 update

The last month in 3/4T has been full of fun, from science experiments to Book Week and all that was in between.

The students planned and made paper planes as part of our Discovery Unit and designed an experiment that would test the flight.  The video shows the range of designs.

As part of National Science week, 3/4T also explored sound and tension by making paper cup telephones and having intriguing conversations across the classroom.  We even tried for a whole class conference call when students discovered that crossing the lines included all in the conversation.

The theme for Book Week this year was 'Escape to Everywhere', an idea we celebrated in class through reading 'The Patchwork Bike' and making sign posts to the imaginary lands you can only reach through books.  The costumes on the day were amazing, and such a wide range!

Physical coding

As students are learning computer coding in rotations, it is important to understand why we code.  3/4T explored giving verbal instructions, including 90-270 degree rotations, to lead a partner to the treasure.  Lots of fun was had!

Term One 2017

What a busy term this has been!  From an excursion to see 'Mr Stink' at the Arts Centre to the school athletics day and understanding Japanese introductions by guest students, 3/4T have worked hard and had lots of fun.  They are all working towards their potential and I see big things ahead this year.

For our topic this term on community, 3/4T have been exploring the Indigenous and convict history.  This culminated in students making artefacts from each area.  They worked in pairs to make both an Indigenous and convict artefact that provides some information about the history of those people.

Have safe and happy holidays - see you after Easter :)

What a wonderful start to the year we've had in 3/4T!  Yesterday was our school Athletics Day and the kids were fantastic.  They did so well on a hot day, supporting each other and giving their best.
